Erthos Announces Broad Commercial Availability of Earth Mount Solar™ PV Technology
Erthos, Inc., an energy technology company focused on breakthrough advances for utility- scale solar, today announced broad commercial availability of its patented Earth Mount Solar PV deployment platform. Erthos delivers to project developers the ability to develop solar power plants that can be built in half the time, at a far lower cost, and on approximately one third the land.
“By simply putting the solar modules on the ground, we eliminate the most costly, complex, and risky elements in the construction of solar power plants,” said Jim Tyler, CEO of Erthos and former VP of EPC at First Solar. “And we do this while achieving the same or better AC energy production.”
In addition to its novel Earth Mount Solar system architecture, Erthos has developed software tools that automate highly accurate and instant estimates of cost, energy production, and time to construct an Erthos system. “Our software tools make it incredibly quick and easy to demonstrate to developers the value that Erthos can ofer,” said Charles Pimentel, Chief Commercial Officer at Erthos and former CEO of the US-based utility-scale development and IPP business unit for Idemitsu Renewables (formerly Solar Frontier Americas Development, LLC). “Right out of the gate, we are in advanced stages with nearly a gigawatt of opportunities, with a primary focus on 20MW to 100+MW projects.”
Erthos has assembled a team of industry veterans from companies including Tesla, Intel, General Electric, Sterling & Wilson, Wärtsilä, First Solar, Canadian Solar, SMA, and Solar Frontier. “We have an amazing team with the perfect set of skills to bring this technology to market,” said Jim Tyler. And, I think for all of us at Erthos, we see this as the best way for us to add enduring value to the energy industry and to answer the call to address global warming.”
Erthos is joined by numerous service and supply chain partners, including Directional Services, Inc., one of the largest US installers
of utility-scale solar, O&M providers NAES and MaxGen Energy Services, SCADA systems provider Solar Operations Solutions, and solar module manufacturers, ET Solar, ZNShine Solar, and HT- SAAE. “In addition to providing professional engineering services to our customers, Erthos is building an ecosystem of top-tier ErthCompatibleTM product partners who license our technology and provide ErthCompatible products and services to developers and long-term asset owners,” said Daniel Flanigan, Chief Marketing and Product Ofcer at Erthos. “This ecosystem will become more populated and developed over time, continually improving its ability to deliver value to our customers.”
